Good Nutrition is More Important to Cancer Treatment Than You Might Think

When we think about cancer, food isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind. But maybe it should be.

As oncology dietitian Stephanie Swavely says, “Nutrition is essential for maintaining optimal immune function, hydration, physical strength, and quality of life throughout treatment.”

In other words, you can’t make a full recovery without a healthy diet. The problem is that cancer patients often experience nausea, loss of appetite, and other symptoms that make eating a struggle.
